Students and Staff Remain Unprotected

Our schools and universities have still not responded to the urgency of recent shootings and threats. There is technology available that can instantly lockdown every classroom door, without peventing free exit, and allow security staff or first responders to enter at will. Movement can be monitored remotely (either students escaping or attackers changing location). This can be installed for under $400 per door -not the $3000 or more that access control companies want to charge. It is a revolutionary new, patented way to handle school lockdown, and it can be done now - today. It is even compatible with any existing access control or security systems the school may have. And it is entirely Internet based, which allows any authority, anywhere, to trigger it, monitor it and control it. It is not new technology, but a new idea on how to use technology that exists. Schools with old access control systems can bring it into the 21st centrury for 10% of the cost of installing new equipment, and do so with zero down-time. More school shootings...

Every week we hear about another one. Someone with a gun running rampant through our schools, threatening our kids and their teachers. It happens more and more every day. Technology is the answer, but there is no fast-track to put it to work. As an inventor and manufacturer, I have solutions that will save lives - and for reasonable cost. But business doesn't seem to care! I don't understand why... Maybe there's no money in it? Not enough profit in protecting our kids. Insufficient shareholder return for saving the lives of the innocent.

Why are schools wide open?

We have the technology to lock down all the classroom doors when anything triggers an elevated concern. Classrooms doors will allow anyone to exit, but no one to enter during this time. Access Control companies want thousands per door to do this, but it can be done for 10% of that using an idea that no one else thought of. A simple idea that I am patenting as we speak. And our kids can be safe.

But schools are horrible, laborius labyriths to do ANYTHING with. Technology enters the school setting very slowly, if at all. Even when the price is low.

This is the time when technology should be embraced to protect our children. Gunmen should not be allowed to roam through schools or universities killing teachers and students. There is no excuse for this total lack of concern for safety.

My product lets lockdown occur by building, school, district, city... It is a hierarchical system, and the lockdown can be invoked by first responders, teachers, administrators or anyone with permission to do so.

Very simple, very safe, very effective. Many lives would have been saved already.
